partition magic

I have a 30gb drive and about a half of it is ntfs with windows on it. the other half is unallocated. i was trying to use PM to resize the boot partition to the whole drive but it doesn't seem to be working. when i do it and say "apply changes" it restarts the computer. when win2k is starting, I get that black screen with the windows 2000 professional white bar across the top and bottom and it says "xmnt2000 not found.... skipping AUTOCHECK". Then windows starts normally but the partition isn't resized. Any suggestions?

i tried installing pm with nothing running but the bare minimum and it still didn't install xmnt2000.exe is there anywhere i could get this file from and install it myself without having another system with pm installed?

Warning, warning, warning. Partition Magic is easy to use, but I and others with whom I've spoken have had problems with it. In general I recommend that you use Win98 fdisk or the partitioning capabilities in Disc Management of Win2K.

If you have an IBM hdd, your in luck. IM has a great utility for formatting/partioning it's harddrives on the ibm.com website.

i have a western digital drive, also i'm trying to resize an existing partition without losing information on it which, as far as i know, can only be done by partition magic. i'm trying to use version 6
