I'm using Windows XP and Partition Magic 8. I have two partitions C and D. I wanted to take space from D and add it to C. I couldn't do it. So I reduced the partition size of D and then freed the extra space and made it adjacent to the C drive. (There is an option to create space before or after the D drive, before the D drive being adjacent to the C drive. And it appears you can only add free space if is adjacent to the C drive.) Then I merged the C drive with the adjacent extra space and that successfully increased the file size of my C drive.
There is only one small problem. Somehow when merging, it wanted a name and so I gave it the name of C. So now I have a folder inside of the C drive named C which is inaccessible and I can't delete it.
I then experimented with the D drive. Created two separate partitions from the d drive and then merged them. It wanted a name which I gave of D. So now there is also a D folder in the D drive which is also inaccessible and which also can' be deleted.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about? How can I get rid of these inaccessible folders that were created during the merging process?
