Partition Magic 6 has problems with XP Pro?

I just formatted my laptop (HP PAvilion N5470) last week and installed XP Pro. I now want to install my good old Partition Magic 6.0, and get a message saying there's a known compatibility issue with this version of Windows - it has difficulties with NTFS partitions.

Actually, what I want to do is create a Linux partition. At work we're going to set up a test system with Linux 9, and over the weekend I wanted to get a look at it. I have enough space for it.

I downloaded the RedHat 9 ISO's and burned the CD's and then got out PM6 to make my partition and find this message. Do you think it would be able to create a Linux partition for me? The whole 20GB hard drive is of course currently NTFS.

I did linux a little bit in school a couple of years ago, RedHat 6.2, and seem to remember that the install process offers a utility to create a partition and file system.

???

rats.

I guess I'll just wait till Monday and load it onto the machine at work and see it that way. The whole hard drive for that will be linux

Dig through the CD, you should find the DOS files. Make a bootable floppy, copy the contents of the DOS Partition Magic directory to said floppy. Boot. Problem solved.
