I installed win2000 on my computer and now I want to install the second OS win98. But since I install win2k in C: disk and I have convert it to NTFS when I installed win2k I could not install win98 now. So I want to convert it back to FAT32 so that I could install win98. I am using Partition Magic 6.01 but after I select #operation --> covert to FAT32 the lable of my C disk changed to FAT32 immediately and I click apply the opeation I was asked to restart computer. After the restart nothing has been changed I still have NTFS in my C disk when you see it in Partion Magic. What maybe wrong? Thanks.

I have the same problem with Partition Magic 6.01. MS clealry says, it's not possible to change back. Anything else works perfect, it's good software.

If PM will let you resize a partition, make some slack space before the current partition. Format it as Fat32. Install Win98 then use your W2KCD to boot recovery mode and repair the boot partition. YOu may neen need to manually add Win98 to the boot.ini, so it appears on the boot menu.

Dear DODO
It is off course true that thw WIN98 do not recognize NTFS partiton, and further PM 6 is not able to convert the system NTFS partition to FAT32 and therefore it is not possible for you to install WIN98 at presnt situation. Still you want to have duaa booting, re-install all over again, but remember install WIN98 first and than W2K.

Thanks for all your replys. Even if now I want to reinstall all of them. Can I just boot with my win98 boot disk and format the disk use the dos command "format" to format my C disk which is original NTFS formation? Or I have to use the software like Partition Magic to format it to FAT32? Thanks.

You cannot format NTFS partition using either FDISK option or through WIN98 Startup diskette program. PM6 Format will only work, Ya if you have Disk Manager of your HDD manufacturer than it is possible for you to re-partitioning and reformatting your HDD using this DM
