Partition magic 6.0 and win xp problems

I need to resize some disk partitions. I have partition magic 6.0, so I installed it only to find that it doesn't fully work with win xp. So I made an ms-dos startup disk within win xp. I booted to the disk and I cant get to any of my partitions using "cd g:\". Anyone know of any work arounds for winxp and partition magic xp.
