I recently was attempting to restore two system partitions in my hard drive. I had problems with the backup in one partition so I managed to restore by drag and drop of all of the files. Primitive but it worked fairly well. I ended up with a problem and I don't want to go through the whole routine again to fix it.

What I ended up with was this:
The target drive name>the copied drive name>the files
ie. Data Files (E:)>New Volume (Did not copy the E)>Files

What I want to do is to remove the “New Volume” without messing up the file path:
ie: Data files (E:)>Files
If I am not making this clear it is because I obviously don't know what I am talking about. Please help if you can understand what I am getting at.

i don't exactly understand what you're trying to convey with "messing up the file path" but...

the only way i know of is to cut or copy the "Files" and place it directly on the E: drive

you can do this by

select all of the files you wish to move
right click in the selected area
select cut
navigate your way to the E:
right click
select paste
