Partition Dell SATA HD

Hi, I've try to partition an 80gig SATA HD but it won't let me. Does anyone know why?

Using a Dell 8400.

I just partitioned my Dell 4700 with a 80gb SATA drive using Partition Manager 2004.

I've manage to partition a SATA HD with Partionmagic. Here's how you do it. 1st, you need to resize your local drive into a size that you want. 2nd, partion the unallocated of the drive into watever size you want or partion more if you wanted. I hope this info will help for those who are seaking.

Are you going to be installing Linux or something on that other partition? I've learned from y mistakes and I would suggest not using PM. Some distros, like FC3 or Mandrake, will partition it for you during install which is a much easier way to go about it.
