It doesn't get rid of the equipment taxes, the fines, or the medicaid expansion, but it shows that insurance isn't naturally at all necessary for everything as I (and others) have long said.

Isn't cash-only (or barter) for medicine a wonderful idea?

Insurance should only be necessary for catastrophic events, but the State wants to encourage waste and inefficiency so it long ago changed what insurance is supposed to be and they also have granted ridiculous patents so that insurance becomes necessary.

if everyone gets insurance, doctor won't be able to do this anymore and will have to take the paycut, because no one will pay cash anymore.

There's a fraud being perpetrated on college students in my field. They are being told that it's a secure well paying situation but too many believe it and many more people chasing fewer jobs means lower wages, unemployment and massive debt. It's probably a good idea to stay away from health care as a career right now.

Surprise! Paying directly for services can often be cheaper than paying into a convoluted system of interweaving entities and processes that "helps" you pay for the same services.

Medical care either needs to move more towards that model or towards more of a single payer system (I am more inclined towards the latter, as corporations in any sort of health-related field generally seem to value profit over human well-being...I don't think it's right to profit off medical care like corporations are.). All that messy crap in the middle hasn't done the US much good.
