You're back with a new rig :)

Or limiting it with your new 12400 HR rig at the bottom:

I actually went through multiple systems, 7950x3d -> 13900k (one with bad IMC) -> 12400.

The 12400 is staying with me, as it got a huge improvement (I can provide the stock + jedec performance) and for what it cost me, it is amazing ($90 for the cpu)
I will be getting raptor lake refresh and testing that too.

Can't really knock it at $90. Although the whole platform would be more. We do have ADL/RL scores with DDR4 too, although maybe DDR5-6000 is actually cheaper than DDR4-4200+ anyhow.

Anyway, close to 5800x3D performance is pretty impressive.

surprising not.
CPU = 12400/f => $90-110 (you can also get the 12490f for similar price from china/aliexpress, which got more cache)
motherboard = Asrock B760M riptide => $120 (this board is the cheapest board that is capable of oc'ing 12th gen non K cpus)
Ram = Hynx A die 16x2 => $69 (those can easily be OC'ed to 8000mhz)

On my 12400, it is capable of doing 7000mhz cl30 without eclk, with eclk, the max I could do is 6550mhz

Honest question: has anyone given thought to converting this test to a Starfield test instead?
Did a very basic comparison on a other forum right after the game launched:

The Bottom picture is actually Corvega and the one above is Diamond City. By looking at the FPS on an AMD GPU does this mean that AMD GPU's i.e., 7900xtx have better optimization now than compared to when they first came out? As in the Chart Position where yukie via zoko chart position #26 7800x3d, 6400mhz RAm and 7900xtx - average fps 126. Or Nvidia is still better overall in regard to optimal performance and FPS.

Ok i fixed it.And he have 7800X3D with 107mhz bclk so its way faster than stock.Stock 7800X3d have max clock 5050mhz and with 107bclk its 5400mhz.
AMD dx11 driver still looks like crap compared to Nvdia in this game.

Taking @Head1985 's results and some more on the OCUK thread of this, we now have the following results table
4DAaFOr.png
That is a bit unreadable, so the top 33 to get Head1985's results in.
uQkGkwF.png

Also interesting is the poster Rezania over on OCUK who tested the same setup with 6800 XT, 7900 XT and RTX 4080:
f1x2ZRQ.png

Finally, I added two new columns to results (off to the right - the tables above are wide enough already) so I could use AVERAGEIFS:
LalqL06.png

Yes, this largely ignores the superb memory tuning some submitters have done, but it makes it easier to digest and I did put the MAX for each CPU so where that shows major variance vs the average we know that tuning is worthwhile!

This would be a nice thing for someone to organise!

What I would say though, is that while we should bench the stock game I hope that if like here it is with a few savegames that at least some of them are with settlements or at the least drag every recruitable NPC to one location and bench that in a savegame.

Reason being that in Skyrim and FO4 this was mostly ignored. In Skyrim the press reviews mostly just ran up to Dragon's Reach and turned around. Not that bad, but if they had dragged every NPC follower along we would know a lot more about NPC scaling.

In FO4 settlements and Automatron, Contraptions Workshop, and so on place totally different CPU load on the game. And that plus tons of mods (for both FO4 and Skyrim, Wabbajack modlisting has made using tons of mods with the game remaining stable far easier), is probably why people are still interested in performance of these games in 2023.

Exactly, I`m quite deep in my playthrough with storywealth mod collection (700+- mods) and performance was very poor in city areas or big settlements, often around 40 fps on my ryzen 5600x. I got tired of this and bought ryzen 5800x3d and it really kills it in this game, it`s so smooth now with barely any frame drops and I could increase shadow distance from default 7000 all the way up to 20.000 and still performance is perfect in 1440p 60 fps locked with Dawn ENB (3600 cl16 ram plus 3080 ti).

Hello, has anyone did a test with the i7 14700k or i9 14900k?
That's a no AFAIK - not here and not in similar thread over at ocuk.

The Intel results show even more that memory tuning is crucial.
Top 15 ATM:
19kxYcu.png

The top Intel score is on that 13600KF with DDR4 but look at the memory tuning!

Even the Zen 3D - which can get good results with almost no tuning - show that the top scorers have all tuned their memory too.

The only reason I was asking because I am going to upgrade my PC but keep my 1080ti for the time being as prices for the Nvidia 4070ti and above are expensive here in Australia. The lowest 4070ti is the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Trinity, 16GB at $1349 AUD. But someone on Discord recommended to get the 7800x3d to match my 1080ti because he has done it and currently saving up to get a 4080 super themself.

So nvidia drivers are 18.7% faster in scene1 and 22.2% faster in second scene.
That has moved your ranking up a good bit!
dTeWBc3.png

so a jump from #35 to #7.
jI2nVx9.png

added a 4080/6800 percentage for each score and the average. Nothing jumped out, both about +20%.

Wonder if the imminent update will change anything?
