Is see that a bunch of parodies got closed today and it made me wonder. Why are parodies not allowed? I went to google for a generic answer and didn't get a satisfying answer. I did find this though.

A few observations:
It seems even back in 2009, people complained about the quality of posters. So people have been awful forever.
The only reason that parodies are not allowed is because of Page 1 scolling? Is that right?
Isn't OT the one place to have a sense of humor? I mean if P&N is the one place you are allowed to be arrogant, rude, insulting and condescending all without discussion value; why not be frivolous, chill and creative in OT?

Parodies aren't banned. The first post which is a parody of real life or, the alt fact one is perfectly fine. It's the Parodies of the first parody that are deemed heinous. Didn't you get the memo?

Because 97% of the time they're lame. Every once in awhile a gem goes through, and not surprisingly, they aren't locked.

Not forever. Only since somewhere between 2005-2007.
