parking ticket question

so i got 2 tickets the other day for the same sh1t. there are parking spots infront of my apt. these are marked spots on the sidewalk. anyway, i got 2 tickets saying i was blocking the sidewalk.

I'm gonna fight these tickets, i was just wondering if it matters that the location on the ticket doesn't match my apt. the location the metermaid put down isn't even close to my apt. just wondering if that's something i can use to make my case stronger.

I'd say that is a good case for dismissal.

The problem with parking tickets is that they have no way of knowing WHERE you were parked if the ticket WAS wrong. Unless you can prove it...

I always use the mitigation option. Automatic 50% off or more, no matter HOW guilty you are. I once got 2 $38 tickets reduced to a single $20 fine...the city had recently put a No Parking sign up where I ALWAYS used to park (while I was parked there), and it was such a habit by then that I got two tickets 😱

dude, they're charging me $70 to park at my apt. are you kidding me? there are 5 spots there, it's assigned to us. i'm not gonna pay just because the metermaid was in a bad mood.

If the judge rules against him ( since it's basically his word vs the meter maid ).
He'll also have to pay court costs.

no way i'm wasting my time going to court.

Well... how can you prove that you weren't parked where it says you were parked on the ticket?

Do you know what the mitigation option is? They can't "rule against you", because you're admitting fault, but explaining the circumstances. I wouldn't know about court costs, because I always mitigate by mail, but it is IMPOSSIBLE for your fine to increase when mitigating, and EVERY SINGLE TIME I've done it they've lowered the fine by at least 50%, usually more.
