So today I get in the mail somthing from the seattle courts saying that I got a parking ticket mid November and I had not paid it. They tacked on another $25 for being late and are sending to collections (and put a hold on my licence) if I dont pay by the 23rd of Dec.
Problem is- I never saw the ticket, and on top of that, I rarely drive my car, normally it is sitting in the parking lot of my appartment in my assigned spot behind my building.

However- the vehicle description is a Ford Ranger- I drive an MX6 (small 2 door coupe).
The licence plate matches though and I'm sure that's how they got my address.

So basically I'm wondering if anyone has been in this situation and what I should expect when I call in on Monday and ask about it- am I screwed cause the plate number matches? Or can I just say- look, I dont drive a Ranger?
I'll be payin the $60 before the 23rd if they won't overturn it just so it doesnt go to collections...but considering the time of year, I could def. use that money for presents...

They probably got one number off on the plate when writing the ticket. Good luck getting anybody to help you or actually remove the ticket though.

Don't give up so easily, at least try to fight it.

I fought a parking ticket a while back that I got but it was not filled out. I won very easily with just a couple of emails being sent to the city.

I am def. going to fight it. But I'm also not going to risk them dinging my credit for $60. I'll fight it up till the day I have to pay, then I'll just pay it and write another nasty letter or somthin. I don't mean to seem like I'm going to bend over for them, I'm just figuring that I'll end up paying for it.

Obviously, they screwed up somewhere. Contest it. Explain the about the difference in vehicles, and you should get it dismissed.
