$73!!!!!

Even in Philly the PPA (Philadelphia Parking Authority, also featured on Parking Wars) didn't set such stupidly high rates. I parked illegally once in Philly and it was like $30. Much more reasonable.

You suck, Los Angeles Parking Authority (or whatever the hell you are).

oh, and it was "no parking between 10pm and 6am" next to a beach, not like i'm jamming some traffic way or anything.

Try $500. At the hospital I used to work the parking was a premium. People would park all the way to the back fence, so if you drove in and there was no spot, you had to back out, there was no room to even do a 3 point turn. So they put these barricades and labeled a 3-4 car width area as a "fire lane". (guess it was the only no parking signs they could find).

So one day I park right next to the barricade on the proper side. People then started to move the barricade and park next to it too, until it was just set aside. When they came to issue tickets guess they just kinda estimated where the barricade used to be and ticketed all the cars after, including me, and since the sign said fire lane, it was one of the highest parking tickets you can get.

Thankfully I was able to fight it. Went to see the maintenance manager and he just ripped it and said not to worry. They eventually put proper signs that said do not park within so many metres or something like that.

A standard parking ticket here is like 7 bucks. I've gotten a few, where I was at fault (took my chance). I find it funny that there's an option to fight it in court. I don't know any lawyers that charge less than $7. Cheaper if I just pay it.
