I am going to NY this weekend. Sat - Mon
I already have hotel, but extra $40/a day for parking.

What other option are there?

any other advice for tour??? musical? museum?

street parking...thats what i normally do when im there for a couple days...just make sure u read the signs so u know if u have to move it

Park in upstate or New Jer. and walk 🙂

New York is like the city I live in. They both made there name by having a port, and city grew so fast they didn't make it large enough or plan ahead for the growth. Now you have these little streets that are made for half or less, then the people on them. And don't even look at how much a crappy 1 Bedroom gos for, will make you cry.

Park in someone's neighborhood and take the subway! Otherwise take the $40 parking!

The most I've ever paid was like $45-48 for parking near the convention center. And that was for two hours only! :Q

holy jeebus. Parking in Chicago is miserable too

$40 for parking for a weekend in NYC is a good deal. Leave your car there and take public transit and cabs while you're there.

park in jersey and take the PATH train in

That is what I'd reccomend....

EDIT: Is that $40 for the whole time, or is that a per day (or night) rate? If it is former, I'd take it. Not too bad of a price and worth it not to take a PATH in.

There are less and less legal spots on the streets, y'know. Everyweek it seems there are more and more no standing or no parking zones. Meters keep going up where there were none. Now all the meters East of Third avenue need quarters on SUNDAY TOO !!! That was always a bye day for meters. Parking here is a nightmare from hell. I wish I could afford a lot. The cheapest that I have found is like $300/month in my 'hood. Many times, I won't even use my car b/c I don't wanna lose a good spot. When I don't have a good spot for the next day I get all stressed about finding one. The other day this lady put her babycarrage in the spot to save it while her hubbie brought the car around. He had not left yet to get it, so they were both there. I got into a huge arguement w/them over the spot. It was good for the next day. You can't reserve a spot w/a babycarrage !!! The baby was in the man's arms, so I backed into the spot and was gonna run the carrage over. The stubborn couple finally took the brakes off the stroller and moved it. It sucks here for parking.

Depends on what you like.

I would say go to the Guggenheim and then after that walk right up the street and go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Both are world famous and have some great stuff in them. The MET I love.

For shows, if you don't care what you see and want something cheap go to the TIX place in Times Square and you can get seats for cheap.

Go to ground zero and look at the big hole in the ground along with 50000000 other people, and HAVE A HOT DOG AND PRETZEL FROM A STREET VENDOR .. oh how I love those.. with everything on it. Need to get one everytime I am there.
What else do you want to do?

When my friend and I drove down to NYC, we just parked our car at our hotel in NJ, harlbrook heights ( i think ) and took a 25 min bus ride to the city. it was fine, and the busses are really comfy.

Oh while in NYC, get some honey roasted peanuts, and go see conan obrian if you can. He's alot funnier in person!
