I suggest leaving the car at some station (alewife if from the north or Quincy Adams if from the south) and just use the T. Your going to waste hours trying to find a spot or end up paying at LEAST $20 bucks for private parking.

You can park in private parking lots but it will cost money. There are a lot around Fenway and Commonwealth Ave. which is closeby to Brookline. I never had a problem finding parking in a general area in that area myself though. If you wanted to park closeby without walking or taking transportation, then maybe you would have a problem.

Bad enough. You can get a weekly deal, then do it. Daily can cost well >$20 for 10hrs.

street parking is extremely scarce anywhere downtown boston. expect to pay 10-25 bux to park anywhere downtown in a garage or private lot (which are not hard to find). brookline is not as bad since it is more suburban than boston but its not easy either. most restuarants have vallet.

put it this way, my friend pays 180$ a month for a garage and that is an AWESOME student discount of 50% off. People buy parking spots in condos for like $10,000-15,000. If you're staying anywhere along the T you don't really need a car. I see your from jersey and there's a 15$ bus that goes from canal street NYC to South Station in Boston everyday, every 30 or 60 minutes. ride takes about 4 hours. but 5 days of parking, expect to pay at least 100 bux.

yea, a few things...
if parking at a t station, do not leave your car there overnight in the city - the places get hit w/ break ins almost nightly
if parking at a t station, do not get there any later than 7am and expect to find anything
don't expect to find parking on the street for any length of time - you can find it in the evenings, but you can't leave your car there all night, at least in brookline, its $30/nite the car is on the street tickets.
fungwah is great, ridden it a few times. if taking it, pack everything valuable in your bag under the bus and don't leave the side of the bus until you see the driver/attendant close the hatch. do not take out any new technology items on the bus and flash them around. be low profile, just as you would walking through a bad area of town...heard way too many people get ripped off on the fungwah - never had any probs myself, but i usually am going for a day or nite and just have a change of shirt and underwear with me and my only nice item being my phone.

you dont see many flashy cars in boston because of reasons said above. i have a friend whos xeon lights got jacked THREE times in a couple months. so if you have a nice car with nice things definately park in a private garage that has some sort of security, but even that isnt all that safe.

ive never heard of people getting ripped off on fungwah. you get picked up and dropped off in very public places so i dont see the major concern other than keeping an eye on your luggage under the bus.

1. Drive to Brookline.
2. Park on legal street in Brookline.
3. Go to Boston via Green Line.
4. Retrieve car before 2 am.
5. Easy.
