Paris with the woman...

So, she wants to go to Paris in the middle of March.

A little rushed, I know, but I'm trying to make it happen.

Anybody have any really good experiences with specific travel agencies with regards to pricing, flexibility, etc? Looking to spend no more than 1.5-2k between the two of us for flights and hotels, anywhere from 5-7 days.

EDIT:

Hm... the little research I did on expedia made me think that 2k would be enough for a decent hotel, looks like I'm off. Taxes and upgrades (double twin bed, 250 sq ft, no thanks) are pretty pricey. I'm thinking $2800 between the two of us? I have a few hundred thousand ff miles with United, but I'd rather just purchase a package for this event, as it looks like I'll be flying half a dozen relatives to a wedding in Hawaii during the next month.

UPDATE:

Looks like we're going to London. United is having a promotion, 35000 ff miles to fly roundtrip to London, versus the regular 50k. So the money I'm saving on tickets is going toward a hotel and other expenses. Thanks for all the advice guys- I guess Paris will have to wait till the summer.

wait wait wait... so you want to go to Paris from Massachusetts and only spend 1500-2000 for 2 peopel that will cover flight and hotel for a week. It can be done but that is taking the cheapest flight and really cheap hotel. Price will be in teh $1800-2300 for low end decent type hotel for 1 week if you book this month.

I live in Raleigh/Cary NC and it is going to cost about that much juts to fly and stay in the caribbean.

Go to priceline and other sites to get a IDEA on what it will cost then see what you can afford.

The airfare (at least on continental) is crazy cheap right now. I got 550 pp roundtrip from Tucson. The hotel is what will kill you, everywhere I looked was ~200 euro a night.

Good like on staying under 2k!

Actually he can do a 7day/6night trip for $1500 from Boston to Paris at www.priceline.com
Mind you that is in a cheap hotel, so not sure about quality but it gets him to Paris.

Looks like I'm too late, but I'll chime in anyways...

I was able to snag a 6-day, 5-night travel package which included airfare to Paris and a hotel for two people for about $1200 total two years ago from FranceVacations.net... and we were very happy with it.

We went in April-- which is supposed to be one of the better months to go-- flowers are blooming, it's not too hot or crowded, etc. You should be able to get an even better price for March....
