Over recent months there have been more and more requests on the forums for a way to block IM programs from parents who want to limit what their kids do on the computer, weather I agree with the method or not doesn't matter, however it did stay in my mind and wanted to find out if there was a product out there that would do it, or how else it could be done.
recently more and more of these IM clients are becomming more resistant to standard firewall blocking techniques by port searching for a way out, and commonly using port 80 to do it. as we know port 80 is for web traffic and you can't exactly block it without "killing" your net connection.
I have found software that will disable AIM and other IM programs its called "Chat Blocker" and is availble for download here its not free but it is effective.
