Apparently they spent about 100,000 on the wedding, JESUS!!!!!!!!

my aunt/uncle both own a business each, so that is probably why they did that, but still an insane amount of cash on a wedding...

my dad said it costed about 60k in just food. LOL I shoulda gone!

I'm left out on that one too. I make more money than most of my family .. and that's not saying much.
 
NYC is so expensive anyway. You take that wedding and put it in another part of the country I guarantee you'll knock 10-20k off that price. still 80k is alot to spend on a wedding!
 
Heh. You should watch episodes of Bridezillas (sp??) on one of the local NYC cable channels if you want to see ridiculous weddings (or ridiculous cost). 🙂

Wedding costs can easily get of control if you're throwing the whole affair within NYC proper.

i have a rich uncle (CPA with his own firm...doctor wife) but he is a stingy bastard. He'll prolly take all his money with him to the crematory
 
Some of my best friends, a couple, skimped and saved for the longest time for their wedding. It cost a ton but it went off without a hitch and was a nice affair.

Too bad they got divorced six months later!

That's not too far off for a major met city.

$230 per plate x 250 people = $57,500
$8000 dress = $8,000
$12,000 flowers = $12,000
$2,000 band = $2,000
$1,500 string quartet during dinner = $1,500
$15,000 misc (transportation, church, etc) = $15,000
Happily ever after..........................................................Priceless 😉

If someone else was paying, i wouldn't mind that much. If i'm paying any part of it, or my parents are, then she better be ready to settle for justice of the peace.
 
$100,000?? Is this a wedding or a friggin' business venture?

Funk that, at my wedding we're having ham sammiches and Kool-Aid (OK, not that cheap, but you know what i mean) and we're gonna spend the money on what it SHOULD be spent on...house, furnishings, etc.
