Sure enough, somehow a dozen people managed to make a news story about themselves.

This forums is kinda bumming me out.

The obvious solution is to not have kids, that'll also speed up the death of our race and eventually allow another heavily evolved race to take over with a virtually fresh start.

if you've seen the movie idiocracy, the exact opposite will happen.

Nothing in terms of restrictions or punishment that a parent can do directly to a child has much chance of success. With sex or drugs, once a person has a taste there needs to be powerful motivation to stop. I would make it as clear as possible that A) I will find out, and B) whoever the other kid is will be going to jail.

I saw my 1st porn when I was in 5th grade, I had no idea what I really was going to see.

True story, while I was watching it and trying to like it because I knew this was what men did. I was eating the Knudsens Lime yogurt I typically ate after school while I watched cartoons. The porn was kind of boring because I just wasn't really into it. But I finished watching it just so I could tell my friends I watched porn. Anywho, the money shot came, this was a low quality VHS copy of a movie so it wasn't that clear. I saw something come out and I all I could think of was the yogurt I was eating and it scared me.

I didn't watch porn again for a long time, and to this day I still don't eat lime yogurt lol.

It's not about shielding them from the world as much as letting them mature enough to handle things when you know they're ready. They have no clue when they're ready.

Do you think that the process of maturity is something that happens purely due to ageing?

IMO it's mostly learning from experience (though obviously in a child's teenage years there is some physical and mental development). If you, as you say, "instilled them with The Fear", then how do you "know they're ready"? Are they likely to come to you with questions when your restrictions could imply that they shouldn't ask any questions on that topic? How then would you gauge their readiness?

That's the American way; let someone else do your parenting for you. I wonder whose fault it is? It certainly can't be the parenting, or little precious herself. There must be someone to blame; maybe facebook, or reddit. They probably caused it...

3/10 (tired old coot rant).

Well it has happened and if it does happen, I hope something changes so it can't happen again. (I don't mean by taking away the camera/phone/laptop/etc)

why not? the kids she sent it to (not the 18+) will be put on it. even if she sent it to a 14 yr old boy. they get on it for receiving child porn. So how is it not fair that she gets put on for making and distribution of child porn?

personally i don't think either should be on it. but if one does the other does too.

Have you seen a kid's movie with porn in it? I didn't think so. You must think everyone in the film business is stupid for not understanding childhood sexuality because clearly they should be fucking like rabbits in Despicable Me.
guess u haven't seen the director's cut Hentai version?
all those minions running a train:eek:

How about? For every nude you send I will force you to watch your father and I have sex with each other :p

I don't think any of them should be put on it, period. In fact, if a person distributes nude pictures themselves, anybody that receives is should automatically be exempt.

Parents are at fault here for giving a kid permission to use such device unmonitored.

What did they think was going to happen? She is a young, ignorant and stupid kid.

when I was growing up, before I got access to a computer and internet and still after I got access to the computer and internet, I was reminded that I shouldn't do anything that could get me arrested and put in jail. There were a lot of times where I was going to do things but didn't due to the legal implications and liability. Knowing that distributing nude pictures would be considered child pornography would have been more than enough to deter me from even thinking of going further.... let alone the fact that I didn't want nudes of my self circulating the internet.

They parents can face jail time if they do proper "parenting".

She will more than likely be classified as a sex offender now, fortunately I think it will get cleared at 18.

This is not always the case though. There was a news story about a woman in Wellington that posted her son and his girlfriends sex pictures on Facebook to try and shame them into breaking up. Everyone got hit with sexual predator charges as it's illegal for underage kids to send nudes to each other and also for an adult to post them.

It was a freaking train wreck for those two families.

Kids who aren't given rules stick out like a sore thumb. Any parent who has a well behaved child can clearly and easily see the difference especially when it comes to subjects that are taboo for 99.9% of households at such an early age. Porn is the taboo - not talking about sex - because I know you're at the defense of all the poor 10 year olds who don't get to watch bang bus and casting couch. If someone brings up sex/porn/anything remotely related, the kids who are able to freely access it react completely differently and have a totally different attitude about it. The rest of the kids who know what it is but haven't been exposed ask an entirely different set of questions. I help run a baseball camp every summer for 10-12 year old kids and this is inevitably discussed among them at length. It's sad and pretty fucked up to hear a kid talk about what he 'wants to do' to the girls he knows. Meanwhile, the more innocent among them are still behaving like kids.

Adults become inundated with sex at a certain age, so there's no reason to start it earlier than necessary. As I said before, the punishment for the 10 year old in my house is 'severe' because I know the cost of letting him focus on porn, which he will definitely do given the chance considering 1) he's male and 2) he has a pulse. It would rob him of a significant chunk of his innocence that he'll never get back because I know he's still a child at heart based on my daily interaction with him. When he grows into this naturally, then by all means he can start governing himself. Until then, it's my job to know the difference.

My son is 12 and he still has no interest in girls. When he uses the computer it is in a room where we can see what he is viewing and I have our router set to shut off internet access after a certain time every night.

Any of the Facebook friends get "listed" just for seeing them?

They technically downloaded the image when loading up the browser page.

Some kids are experimenting with oral sex or more by 9-10 now. Many parents had no clue and thought their kids lacked interest in the other sex as well.

Now that said, I doubt oral and stuff at that age is really understood or even that great, but the kid's are going through the motions.

Many kids today have had intercourse by 15-16.

If the kid is not popular/a loner than YMMV.
