Superintendent Scott Grimes has resigned from Dallas Center-Grimes, school officials confirmed on Friday.
Grimes' resignation will become effective June 30.
In a letter to families, the district says this decision came after "continuing dialogue about the direction of district leadership."
Grimes has been the DCG superintendent for 12 years.
The school board says it has already started a search for a new superintendent and will provide opportunities for community feedback.
