McKenzie police have charged two Carroll County parents with raping their child.

Jonathan Wayne Goodrum, 19, and Kristina Louise Sawyer, 18, are charged with raping their 1-day-old girl before she was taken home from McKenzie Regional Hospital about six weeks ago, said McKenzie Police Lt. Tim Nanney.

Nanney said hospital officials notified police of the possible rape after noticing injuries to the child's rear during a routine examination given before newborns are released from the hospital.

How is that even possible?? I guess I have to read the link. . .

Ok read it. . .I still don't understand how it could be possible without killing the child.

The link doesn't say.

My opinion:
- Sex offenders are the most lucrative competent of the highly profitable prison system, costing as much as $1 million per year to house.
- Teenagers living in a no-tell motel can't afford lawyers.
- Hospitals have lawyers on staff.

Imagine what kind of horror those parents must have been through to rape their own new born. We all are part of the world they grew up in. The world is as it is because we are as we are.

well obviously the punishment should come after a guilty verdict.

Then again, it just seems too weird.

If they're guilty than absolutely yes. But I can't help but think this is an awful misunderstanding of some kind. Have you ever seen a 1-day-old infant? It's just too hard to believe.

That is exactly my feeling. Why were they so quick to rule out the hospital staff also? They do all kinds of probes and tests in the hospital to newborn infants, including taking the temperature rectally because that is the most accurate way to take the temperature for an infant. Could have also happened accidentally while somebody was changing a dirty diaper and cleaning off the baby poo. . .new parents can make mistakes. There is nothing about the extent or severity of the injuries so it's hard to make a judgement. But if it turns out to be true and the infant was somehow abused by the mom or dad intentionally then the dad should have his balls lopped off and the mom should have her uterus surgically removed and both should be locked up for a very very long time.

That is the most horrific thing that I have ever read. I hope that, if not the parents, whomever is responsible for this is dealt with accordingly.

My prediction, if found guilty, they will do minimal prison time if any. Afterwards only to be released back into the population, with a restriction to stay away from schools... :disgust:

I?m assuming from this ?vague? article, attempted penetration was made but not completely successful. They claim internal anal skin tears, ?skin tear in and around the private (back) area.)? To what degree, who knows.

If they were suspicious of rape, their first thought would have been to ?try? to grab a semen sample for DNA. I don?t know if that was attempted or possible. I like to think the hospital would have done an in depth in-house investigation to R/O other possibilities prior to claiming rape. It?s a serious charge.

/edited for a second thought.
It?s possible they didn?t have time to do a full investigation. Their main concern would be to keep that kid in house until it was completed.

That was my thought, too, not to mention that there are so many nurses running around that such a crime would be difficult to commit.

1) Why the hell are two teenagers living in a motel having a kid? State needs to take this kid away regardless of the verdict.
2) At our hospital, the child is either in the room with the parent or in the nursery. A 1 day old being raped is sure to make a lot of noise, so either the mother was part of it and told nurses everything was under control, or it didn't happen.
3) Chemical castration FTW.

Save the taxpayers a lot of money in housing kiddie rapists and make them wear a sign in prison that says "I raped a child." Give all of the other inmates a shank and let tem go to town.

off topic...the same punishment would work well for Zacharias Mossoui.
