It is. It's accurate.

Except I don't live with my parents and there is nothing I need to do around the house for them regardless? My parents are retired... They sit at home all day and look for things to do.
they are retired? they had you when they were real old then?

i don't see why they wouldn't think you deserved a laptop to use for college.
there has to be more there. do you treat them well or not?

No, my dad and mom retired about 3 years ago. So they retired when they were like 50 and 46.

Me and parents have generally grown up poor. It's only when they retired that they suddenly have a surge of wealth to buy a lot of useless shit. They're still not wealthy by any stretch though.

Parents never made more than $65k combined in their life, IIRC. Oh, and that was like the last year they worked probably.

I know most of you were born in caves and didn't grow up with wolves... instead you grew up alone because you're such a beast. You eat the hearts of newborns and live on the suffering of your minions, but some of us grew up with families and shit. So, spare me your 'unique' story.

Cliffs - I'm in college. Mom got inheritance from dead mother. Parents spend it on stupid shit(Escalade, useless renovation on house, et cetera). I think they should be spending some of it on me because I was the favorite grandchild. (Most promise, most potential, spent the most time with, bonded with most, et cetera) I need a nice laptop that will last me 3 years in college (Think MBP price). The only job I can get has me working less than 12 hours a week because it doesn't have a lot of business.

What do?

And, for the rest of you... Do you get any kind of parental support for college?

This is a joke right? You created a thread a while ago talking about how a laptop was useless for your uses. You created a thread that you have no feeling toward the death of your grandmother.

You're a pathetic loser with no potential and have sponged off your parents and government. And now you create this thread?

Karma bitch...

you can get a nice laptop for 900 nowadays.

Maybe. I'm still looking. I have a few requirements that many laptops don't seem to have. (USB 3.0, great battery life, decently accurate display, good performance, maybe SSD)

Your parents raised a kid who ended up wanting a Mac? They should be ashamed of themselves.

Anyway, buy a $400 laptop and when it dies in two years, buy another one. $1500 should keep you connected through all six years of your associate's degree with enough money left over to buy a bus ticket to Yellow Knife to take that job at Tim Hortons.

Uses have changed since then? And I'll admit, a laptop is not going to be crazy useful for me. However, I wouldn't mind having one anyway.

And who cares if I didn't feel anything over her death? Just because I didn't feel anything doesn't mean I deserve less. Keep showing how stupid you are.

that seems young to retire. and a boring thing to do at that stage of your life.

Dad is too broken to work. Mom didn't want to work if Dad wasn't.

Nah, I loathe Mac's in general. I only want it because it actually seems like it'd be the only thing that will run for 3 years. I'd probably put Windows 7 on it and dual-boot to Mac for any stupid Mac related shit I encounter. Unfortunately, I will most likely have to learn the evil ways of OS X because of my career path.

College expenses, IIRC, include things outside of tuition... Hey, laptops... they are usually consider an expense. And you didn't read the cliffs even. Diaf troll.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use your desktop which you kept telling us why you didn't need a laptop.

I recently bought my father his first laptop for $500. If someone gave you a $500 laptop, a spoiled little shit like you would be pissed about it.

Stupid? You're the fucking loser here. You don't know how useful a laptop will be too you but you need to USB 3, SSD and other useless shit.

Again, you don't deserve shit and I hope your pathetic life gets worse. Once you fail out of school, you'll be using your parents til they die and hopefully, they'll use up the money and leave you nothing.

I'm glad your grandmother left you nothing, she knew you were a worthless POS.

Except I don't need a shitty $500 laptop? I need something that is agile.

USB 3, learn about data backup and how long that shit takes. SSD, read previous statement + thousands of other reasons. (Better battery life, more agile, less heat, et cetera)

For being on a tech forum, you sure don't know shit about tech.

Stop reading the ads. They make you sound like a marketing moron.

Nah, that was all me. That's not the ads at all. (For what it's worth, generally, I don't read ads) I haven't read any computer ads in months. :p

I haven't even shopped around for laptops yet. But I still know decently priced laptops STILL don't have what I want.

You deserve money from her death? In what way did you help her acquire anything she left to your mother?

Who the hell buys a $1,500 laptop that they don't even think is useful for them? You're an idiot.

You've never had or used a laptop have you dipshit?

I have three of them in my house right now. If you weren't such a pathetic loser and have one redeemable value, I would send you one but I'm sure none of them would be good enough for you. Even though two have discrete graphics, one with a SSD but no USB3. You're too funny.

You do know that I'm smarter, more technical, more common sense and more of a clue than you right?

Please tell me why you might need USB 3 for data backup? I have USB3 on my desktop and don't use it. I recently used my laptop to clone my desktop HDD to my new SSD. Oh noes, USB2 is not as fast as USB3.

Heat? WTF. Better battery life? Get another battery pussy. Agile? WTF

For a poor unmotivated pathetic loser, you have a lot of demands. Beggars can't be choosers.

Thankfully, people like you are around to give the rest of us a laugh.
