Actually, bad parenting is probably why this all came about.
Most likely...considering they were probably spoiled (a car and a horse? wtf?). However, at this point it probably required drastic action and seriously, it's beyond bullying if they broke the kid's jaw. He didn't turn them in for bullying a kid, he turned them in for assault on a kid.

"I'd like to add the "criminal" label to my children.

"I would like very much to be responsible for paying for their bond, legal fees, and for court ordered pysch evaluations and mandated treatment. I would also like for them never to be able to get a good job, and to have to explain for the rest of their lives, their criminal history. I never want them to be able to own a gun, join the military, or be eligible for jobs in certain high paying fields regardless of their future deeds or education. I would also like them to forever resent me for fail at my parental obligations to protect them."

Yeah, Superdad!

^^^ This

That's the kind of problem you deal with in-house. Lame-assed father wants someone else to do his job for him. I'm surprised he isn't American :^S

This wasn't bullying it was full on assault. You don't handle your kid breaking someone else's jaw "in house." He was also 17 on a 13 year old not just little kids that had an accident rough housing or something. "kid" should do hard-time although I imagine he'll just get juvie or something.

He's being sarcastic using the same words as others have in previous threads, if it wasn't him who said it it might be seriously meant but he's one of the few bright people who know better.

His take on it is the teapickers choice, let the parents handle it but when it affects society then society should contribute which leaves society to pay for every fucking thing.

That and lower taxes...

It'll work just fine, free money grows on trees for tea pickers.

Last year we had a parent turn their kid in for murder. Little shits tossed a brick of an overpass, hit a car, and killed the driver. Parents heard the kid and friends laughing about it and the next day heard a woman had been killed. They turned them in. Props to the parents for doing the right thing.

I have done it and I don't regret it. It was for one of my sons and happened about 8 years ago. No charges were pressed, but two sheriffs spoke with him. He's never done the same thing, which I won't mention, again. Lesson learned as far as I'm concerned.

A car for a 17 year old and a horse for a 15 year old girl is hardly being spoiled.

So, let's see. Last week we get a story about a bully and the parents want to handle it inhouse. Parents get lambasted.

This week we get a story about two bullies, parent takes action. Parent gets lambasted.

It doesn't matter what parents do anymore, they're all horrible, right?

a car at 17 and a horse is hardly spoiled. while it does not say what kind of car or horse both can be had very cheap. its not like the girl had a race horse.

good for the father. its not bullying if they are breaking bones.

Put down the silver spoon and do a reality check.

are you nuts? you didn't own a car at 17? hell a horse is even cheaper.

I know a few people that have horse's. its really not much (well if you have your own land even then its not bad) to own and support them.

While horses aren't very bright, it's very difficult to ride them into a hole, back them into a tree or, get into trouble while riding drunk.

I'm amazed at the number of people in ATOT who think giving a 16 or 17 year old a car is no big thing. Then, I remember how many 'youts' post here. Would you have given yourself a car when you were 17? I sure as hell wouldn't have.
