If I have a Mac Pro with Office installed, and I then decide to use Parallels Desktop to run Windows, do I need a separate Office license were I to run Office under Windows?

Which version of Office is it? I know that with Office 2k7, I had to reactivate it when I went to use it under Parallels (BootCamp Partition)

I haven't tested this yet with Office 2K3 since I can't find my disc... I also can't find my Office 2k7 key, thank god I have Office 2k4 on OS X for those times that I need to do Office stuff over the summer.

Yes. You need licenses for everything (well, not really for office 2k3 ;)). You'll also need a legal copy of xp/vista.

eh. imho if you're running it on the same computer i don't see why you'd need 2 licenses. i had xp on a bootcamp partition and then also accessed it with parallels, which of course caused windows to freak out. i just called up and authorized it and it worked fine. it's on the same computer, this is more of a situation that MS couldn't have accounted for (and probably wouldn't care to fix considering).

Well, calling will usually fix the problem that is true, but it is still a little annoying the way that MS handles licensing. Especially in regard to virtualization.
