Parallels 6.0

I just upgraded from Parallels 4.0 to 6.0 and am very pleased so far, especially with the increase in speed.

Because of my work, I have to have a fully-functioning Windows "computer" (on my MacBook), so I spend about 1/2 of my time at work in Parallels. 6.0 is a G-dsend.

Has anyone else noticed the marked speed increase? Any bugs in 6.0 I need to watch out for?

Yea.. I went from 5.0 to 6.0 and it's pretty drastic. It's actually getting to the point to where I can run a VM of Windows 7 and not notice that it's a VM, which is crazy cool. It's still not native speeds, but it's getting there with each version. I guess it'll never really be native speeds though.

Under 4.0, Windows XP ran slightly faster than it did on the 7 year old Dell laptop I replaced with the MacBook, so I guess I was use to it. Now, under 6.0, Windows runs like it is on a new computer!

Quite a difference.

I got fusion for free, I use it to run vcenter client. For the most part it is great, but it tends to lag and causes my macbook to use the discrete video card as long as it is on (even if no vm is running).

I use Crossover, which is wine more of less and it's always worked well for me. Parallels and Fusion seemed interesting, but I haven't tried them.
