Parallel to USB for scanner?

Cabana

I recently got an HP 3200c scanner for free and would like to hook it up, but I really don't like using parallel and it has no USB connection. Is there a cable or something that I can get which will allow me to plug it in to the USB port? I realize that it most likely won't speed it up, but it would make things a bit more convenient for me.

Cabana, a device has to be usb compatible to plug it in a usb port, I didn't see anything in the specs that says it is, so I think you're probably out of luck....:frown:

OK thanks - I've seen stuff like Parallel to SCSI or some such contraption so I was wondering if there was something similar. I figured there wasn't, but it doesn't hurt to check. 🙂

You can get PP to USB adapters (popular with printers) as far as your Scanner goes see if there are drivers that support it B4 making 1 move and wasting $'s

The scanner still has to support the USB interface, though, right? There was nothing in the specs that I saw, though it might be worth contacting the company.

Well I really meant a generic parallel to usb, not one specific for the scanner. I did research on the scanner and know it only supports paralled.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see the reply above this, I'll do some more research on those converters.

I ve used generic PP to USB adapters for printers before no problems, it might work with the scanner?
