I have 2 parallel port printers on my current setup. One is on the MB itself, the other is tied into an ISA parallel port card.

I just bought a new Asus A7V motherboard that does not have any ISA slots.:frown:It does have plenty of USB ports though.:)

I want to know if there is a converter that takes a parallel port and changes it to USB ports.

I understand they make PCI parallel port cards, but I want to use the USB ports if I can.

I know I can buy a new printer that is USB, but the ones that I have are working fine and were fairly expensive at the time.

Thanks in Advance.

Yes there are. They usually also have a few serial ports too. I think Belkins sells one that is also a usb hub. $$$. I think they are aroudn $40. I suspect a PCI PP card might be cheaper but that would be your call. Do a search on DejaNews for your printer(s) and usb and see what it comes up with. I've heard that some printers do not like these connections. Some do. (But I could be wrong on that.)

Get an HP Jet-Direct (or lexmark equivalant) print server.
Its like $300, but its cool :)
plus you can have any computer on a network print on it (i belive the entire internet if you set it up properly)
