So I just ordered a dell inspiron 6000 due to the $300 off coupon (should arrive tomorrow). I just realized today, however, that one of the major programs that I work with requires a dongle connected to a parallel port. I've heard that usb adapters don't work with dongles, so I'm wondering if there's any other way around this?

newegg has a number pci to parallel port cards that work with dongles.

usb connects to the printers 50 pin centronic connection and works with printers only.
