So how is the normal person going to figure out what the r of their car is (although probably in the owners manual) or w unless they memorized that for every car ever, and where are they getting the time to measure the size of the spot?

You only need the know the turning radius of your own car.

This is why engineering students don't get laid. (Or mathematics major for that matters)

That is fucking cool. Unfortunately my piece of shit S-10 wont do the turns needed to parallel park in a tight place. I need assloads of room or a regular parking spot. OR..... if I jump up on the curb an inch or two and then roll down when I straighten it out. But thats far from ideal. I miss my Mazda. :(

I also miss my Geo.

(Dear GOD, did I just say that?)

I wonder if that could be programmed into a smart car, so you just have to press a "park" button and it figures out everything for you and does a perfect park every time. Could use sensors to either detect lines for a normal park, or detect cars, the curb for a parallel park.

I thought Lexuses could park themselves nowadays.

BMW and Lexus have prototypes I think.

I probably suck at parallel parking too, or at least would do it slowly. Since I started driving in 2000, the most I've had to parallel park was during the driving test. If I had to guess, I'd easily say I've had to parallel park less than 5x ever. :awe:
Still, the way it works isn't all that difficult.

And besides, those who can do math are clearly witches, and must be dealt with accordingly.

In other words mathematicians never get a parking space. Cause while they are calculating this someone pulls in. ;)

Way to generalize.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_female_mathematicians

Certainly the vast majority are male but that has far more to do with culture and stigma than anything else. I know you are starting to see women in far larger numbers in all the fields nowadays.
After consulting with Google and Wikipedia, as well as performing extensive research on humor, I believe this would be cause to say "woosh". :p

actually, mathematicians do the math within their heads instantly - they have no need for the formula. They just provide the formula for all of those who are unable instantly visualize and solve problems in their heads. ;p

The people who never get the parking spaces are the ones who go reverse too much before turning the steering wheel (or pull up to the front car with too much space between their car and the front car prior to going reverse) such that they are 3' from the curb and hitting the rear car, usually, i see them just quit and drive somewhere else lol.

No..I was a math major too.

So your basically saying all the Asian stereotypes are true. They can't drive, they are good at math..... do you have a small... ahh no I'm not going there I'm 1/2 Asian myself :D
