Paraffin thermal pad remover?

Is it OK to use ethyl alcohol instead of isopropyl to remove the remains of a paraffin thermal pad on a new processor? The manaul for AS Ceramique specifically mentions isopropyl, but I don't see why not to use ethyl alcohol.
 
Depends on what type of "ethyl alcohol" you're planning on using. I wouldn't recommend cleaning it with Bacardi 151 😛, just pick up some isopropl at a store close by. You want the cleaner used to leave the least amount of residue possible, get 70% alcohol or higher.
