Mine's a toss-up... between Lisbon, Portugal and Whistler, BC.

Lisbon's beaches, architecture, people, and events possess incredible beauty and charm. The days are warm and breezy, the people are open and friendly, and the seafood is incredible.

As for Whistler, all I can say is... 8,000 vertical feet, baby! :D

hammer01 ~ congratulations!! That's always a wonderful thing to hear. Declarations like yours give the rest of us hope... :) Does any place you've ever visited together stand out as particularly magical/memorable?

Aw, Hammer that's awesome. Congratulations.:)
I haven't seen many places in the world, but I do have to agree with Hammer that anywhere my true love is, that is my dream home:)

Whistler is definitely cool. But it gets really crowded during peak season when hordes of tourists invade the resort. I actually find many interior mountains better for pure skiing.

Hartland, MI - where I just spent the first night in my new house. All you could hear were crickets and frogs. I would hate to live in a big city. As for vacationing: either Penang, Malaysia or Paris, France - for different reasons.

I would have to say southern Missouri on the Jacks Forks river, a little town called Eminence, where we were married the first time and where I remarried her for our 10th wedding anniversary last July 4th. It also happens to be where the kids and grandkids are at. :)

GTaudiophile ~ I have yet to travel to Germany, but one of my girlfriends here is from Nuernberg... I'll definitely visit someday. :)

Czar ~ have yet to go there, too... so many places, so little time!

Javelin ~ care to share your "secret skiing spots," by any chance? :D

Tauren ~ where is Hartland? I used to live in Rochester Hills (Oakland County), and studied for a few years in Ann Arbor. I have friends in all parts of the mitten/rabbit: Grand Rapids, Blissfield, Cadillac, Royal Oak, Bloomfield Hills, Bad Axe, Mackinaw Island, and Hell... I'll always consider Michigan my home. :)

virtuamike ~ ahhhh, good old HK... I lived there for a short time when I was younger, and had the opportunity to spend 2 months in the city with friends last summer. I spent all my money on food (seew gnap, doong goo, fung zhou, etc.!), the street lined with bars/pubs/clubs (totally blanked out on the name... Lang-something? help me out here), and SHOPPING. :)

Ahh yes.. Sun Peaks resort, 40 minutes outside of Kamloops. Small mountain, but AWESOME powder!
