Paradigm surround set on craigslist

SAWYER

I found a paradigm pdr12, mini monitors, monitor 7's and a cc350 for 550. I current have a paradigm setup so I know the quality is good. I am mainly wanting the 7's since my other speakers are better, what would the minis, the per and the cc350 be worth used? I figured I could buy the whole set and sell everything but the 7's and basically get my money back.

You are going to have to test the market with ebay or look them up on audiogon. Paradigm doesn't seem to hold it's value that well in general.

My question is what speakers are you pairing with the monitor 7's? The 7's, mini monitors, and cc350 are all pretty well matched. If you want the monitor 7's, I would strongly consider selling what you have now and keeping the tonal match of the setup you're buying (except for the sub - sell it.)

I currently have a cc370 center, pw2200 and a pair or monitor 3's

Well, that makes sense then. I have a very similar setup - CC370, Monitor 7's, mini monitors on the sides, and a couple of surrounds on the back (forgot the model, from the Paradigm performance line).

Let me give you some unsolicited advice. Listen to what it sounds like leaving the Monitor 3's in the front and putting the mini monitors as your surrounds. Bottom line: I don't think you'll hear a significant difference between that setup and putting the 7's in the front. I bought the 7's thinking I would really benefit from the lower extension, but the fact is, the lower extension of the 7's is into the subwoofer's territory anyway. The only benefit of the 7's is the multiple woofers for a pronounced middle range.

Love the setup. Wish I had saved some money on the 7's and gone with mini monitors all around.
