I dont know if any of you have heard of or looked into the "Papp Engine", so i'll give a little background info from the OFFICIAL website.

Apparently its designed to run off noble gas, and it will run "almost forever" on a single fill of noble gas because its sealed.

Check out the official website for all the info they have provided.

Im fairly certain this cannot work because of the process it uses to turn the gas into a plasma.. but i cant seem to convince my inventor grandpa that it wont work..

What do you guys think?

Lets see, 2 guys saying they hold the secrete to infinite power. Neither is rich and famous, however, if you give them enough money then they will make their own super company that will make engines for everyone!

Yeps, sounds legit to me.

Just ignore the whole thermal dynamics thing. and the fact that inert gases aren't going to be affected by magic magnetic fields. This is one of the cases where if you through in enough terms that the general public doesn't understand, you fool most of the general public.

A quick search on papp reveals that he made a magic jet submarine that could cross the Atlantic in under 13 hour in his back yard. He also killed a man when one of his magic engines exploded.

I realize that it doesnt work.. Im just trying to compile a list of why all it cannot work.

The biggest is that magnetic fields have no effect on inert gases. As well, the gases aren't changing in any special ways, so how could energy be released if the mass doesn't change in any way?

Barring that, the character of Papp comes into question. Things that count against him.

1. Nobody can reproduce his work.
2. He was on record for making fantastic claims (IE jet sub)
3. When he was going to display it to the general science community, it blew up... Yeah. After that, he never attempted to show it off again.

If I remember correctly, Papp's submarine was going to travel from Montreal to Paris in 13 hours so part of the trip was going to be underground.

I don't think so.

He also had a modified Volvo engine on a test stand that seemed to run forever with no addition of fuel. A reporter noticed that there was a power cord from it that plugged into the wall. He unplugged it and the motor stopped. This ultimately unplugged the whole scam and I think he did some jail time. There were some problems with prosecution in that the whole story was so implausible that the judge wasn't convinced that there was anybody dumb enough anywhere to believe him.

The whole story resembled a Monty Python Show more than anything else.
