Papers, Please

I recently saw a video detailing an indy game called "Papers, please", it was by Scott Manley who posts lots of gameplay videos about less mainstream games, mostly space sims and alike.

You can see the video here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGJXvUvP9pI

The basic premise is you're a border guard, you're in control of allowing or denying access to people entering the country, you have to cross reference all their documents and papers for discrepancies and catch wrong do-ers as they try to sneak across, you need a keen eye for detail and be quick at processing people to make enough money to feed your family and pay the rent.

I completed the main story in about 4 hours and really loved it, it's a fantastic little game, it starts off nice and simple and gets delightfully complex later on, like most indy games it's kind of addictive and has an intriguing "plot" that makes you want to keep playing throwing in some curve balls just as you're getting used to the mechanics.

I couldn't see any threads on this game and though it was well worth its price, i recommend people check out Scott's video to get a good idea of gameplay and consider buying it on steam.

Watched someone stream the game, pretty interesting game with apparently quite a few endings that you can unlock. I have too many other games on my list atm to want to pick it up though, maybe when it's on a big Steam sale or something.

There's 20 endings, about 3-4 are "good" a lot are bad 🙂

You get lots of options during the game, moral choices whether you should strictly do your job or help people out, it all effects the story of the game and how it ends.

i saw the announcement on steam when it came out, looked interesting, i crosses the border at least once a week 😛, might get it on a steam sale or humble bundle, back log is very extensive

I just finished my first game in this. I noticed this game before, but skipped over it because it looked boring but it's actually pretty fun. It can get a little tiring though because there's just so much to watch for with passports, work slips, entry slips, etc. and some of the discrepancies are pretty small like minor spelling mistakes.

I kept my head down and just did my job and got a
good ending. I passed my evaluation and kept my job.
