. . . . . . . with all the money he makes from his shit pizza . . . . . . . .
You referred to the pizza as "shit pizza" and I said that I didn't think the pizza was all that bad.

As far as the commercials, I don't watch much television. I don't recall seeing a commercial for Papa John's Pizza so I can't really comment on that.

Branding. He started when Papa John's wasn't nearly as prosperous as it is now, and he continues because he is very much the public face of the company. Remember Dave Thomas of Wendy's?

This. Dave Thomas was the first thing I thought of when I read your question. It worked well for Dave, and he is trying to cash in on a similar advertising approach.

Also, I love Papa Johns pizza. It is by the best fast food pizza IMO. Dominos was at the bottom of my list, but I haven't tried their "new" pizza since they changed the recipe around. Little Caesars is awful as well.

I have tried Dominos pizza with their new crust recipe. It isn't too bad. I like the crust, but the pizza itself isn't that great. We have a local place called Salamones and they have really good pizza. It is a little on the expensive side, but it is really good. Most times though, we make our own pizza. That way we get exactly the toppings we want on the pizza, and we get as much as we want of each topping.

I find it disturbing that these chains are even changing their recipes in the first place.

The pizza should be the best it can be from the start... no room for the bean counters to fuck up the taste. Guess that's part of the reason local is better.

I also don't get OP's hatred for the dude on the commercial, yeah he's slightly annoying. But nothing close to that Men's Warehouse fucker.

They should have the most interesting man in the world do their commercials.
"I don't always eat Pizza; but when I do, I eat at a shitty national chain."

Here's a couple of pro-tips for you, chief.

1.) The question was stupid, and it was answered sufficiently before, so there's nothing else to talk about.
2.) We don't care what you care about our opinions.

Come on now, there's no stupid questions. Just stupid people who ask the questions.

Dood...he said horse cock...not duck dick...:p

I don't think I've ever had Papa John's pizza, (none in the immediate area) but it doesn't bother me if the owner/CEO does commercials for the company. As was already mentioned, Dave Thomas did Wendy's commercials until just before he died. (Wendy's went to shit after he died...not only the commercials, but the food as well.)

I'm curious why the OP even gives a shit about the company owner/CEO/President doing commercials...does it bother you as much when Dan Hesse does Sprint commercials? (at least you're getting lied to by the boss)

Wow this forum is amazing. You ask a question and one person answers, and the rest talk about something else. I don't care about your opinions of their pizza.
I think it's time to wash the sand out of your vagina.

Oh, and have any of you noticed the weird neck twitch thing he does when he says "better ingredients, better pizza, papa john's."?

I would say Papa John's is the best of the chains, and when they run the BOGO special for online orders, you can get 2 large pizzas for about $15.

But still, there are some local shops that blow their pizza out of the water.

I know John and worked with him and his brother Chuck for many years. He hates being in front of an audience and swore he would never be in his commercials. Marketing convinced him otherwise.

He does have impeccable taste in cars though.

They are talking about the quality of pizza which is related to your original question since you called it shitty. You shouldn't have made a statement about the quality of the pizza in your original question. Also, you shouldn't be such a douchebag.

Why is that guy in all his commercials? Is he that arrogant? Can't he afford to pay some D list actor? I figure with all the money he makes from his shit pizza he'd be rolling in the dough by now (HILARIOUS PUN OMG)

Who's the face of Apple, Microsoft, Trump Towers, and McDonalds? Yeah it's called branding.

You've clearly never tasted good pizza.
