Surprised, I haven't seen any posts on this forum about this game, even though it's been a while since it's been released, and it's quite well-made, especially for a small developer.
To put it briefly, it is basically a PG-remade with improved graphics and some improved features, including a smarter AI.
They basically took what worked from PG1 and PG2, and made a game out of it that can run on modern systems.
They even released two DLCs (yes, the dreaded word), for $5 a piece, each of which takes up a year of the war (1939 and 1940), with I think 14 scenarios each making up a campaign. They are working on releasing a campaign for each year, up to 1945.
Having beat the grand campaign (which is shorter than original PG, with the strange absence of campaign in Africa), and currently near the end of the 1st DLC, I can say that they have quite outdone themselves in creating an enjoyable game that lives up to the PG legacy.
It's not much different from original PG games, but what really stands out is the campaign. The DLC show the potential of this game, where you have missions like take out the troop trains, or save a particular unit from annihilation. Also, the developers seem very supportive of the modding community.
I've attached a screenshot to show you just how big the city of Warsaw is portrayed in the game.
And the best part is, they're having a 50% sale right now. The original price felt a bit steep, except for diehard PG lovers.
