Hi,

I just got a Dell 2007wfp, and now I want to find out what panel I got in this "lottery." Unfortunately I don't really know how to do that...

So far I've just tried to look at it from extreme angles, and I don't see any changes- the colors stay the same.

I really like the screen though- the stand is great and it's very solid feeling. Plus it looks good. I just want to find out whether I got the "bad" panel.

Thanks!

well I guess I may have posted to soon. A google search revealed that the RT803 panel code means s-IPS panel. So I lucked out!

So far the monitor is awesome, and after I use it for a while I'll put up a review with some pics if anyone's interested...

Welcome to the 2407WFP club. I've had mine about 2 months now and absolutely love it. I have a normal 17" monitor at work and it's SO puny in comparision!

I have no idea what type of panel mine is. Getting into the service menu reveals a huge "panel code." I posted it in a thread in the old "Video" forum but got no replies.

*shrug* I've got no dead pixels and the thing is beautiful! :

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. :)

I also recently got a 2407WFP and it looks fantastic, but I have one question. Do you know anything about its HDCP compliance? I read a bunch of stuff about it not being compliant for 1080 over DVI, but most discussion seems to be from early last year. I'm not planning on getting into hi-def anytime soon, but I would want to as soon as it's feasible. Have there been any updates, or would I have to do a workaround like AnyDVD?

20" is the perfect size for me.
