ROCK ON!
Dunno why the hell I didn't think of this earlier. Pandora does have an Adobe Air version that acts like a stand alone app, but as with many adobe apps on Mac (**cough FLASH **cough), its very poorly compiled and eats 75%+ of my CPU of my Macbook when its running.
Loaded up Safari, webclipped Pandora's site into its own window. Loaded it up in Dashboard, made sure uncheck 'Only enable audio in dashboard' in the info screen. Voila! Much less CPU intensive and it takes up no desktop space. Man, I really need to start using web clips more often
