You need to speak non religious English because I am not familiar with religious and I do not get what you were saying (golden calf?). I don't really care for religious or know much about it. The only thing I know a bit here and there is from watching some of the annual showing of The Ten Commandments on ABC TV and chit chat with my friends whenever they tried to ask me to go to church with them. I haven't been to a church for years and years.

I do not know if my friends support D or R or whatever. We do not talk much politic.

I was once caught up in a riot, and was absolutely astounded at the total lack of humanity involved. It was an orgy of violence that achieved nothing. Now that riots have become a cover for looting I have no sympathy for the participants. This isn't a demonstration of solidarity against an unjust system, it's destruction, violence, and theft. So yeah, they can all go straight to hell wearing gasoline underwear.

Herd mentality is a helluva drug. FYI: your conservatism fuels your propensity to identify with the oppressor rather than the oppressed, which is just another way of saying you don't like it when people upset the herd.

I'm actually surprised that some of you are ok with riots and looting. I guess the idea is that as long as it's happening to other people, it's no big deal. I'd be willing to bet you'd have a whole new outlook if your house was burned down.
Those folks aren't bringing attention to a just cause, they're criminals generating contempt. This isn't about civil rights, it's about booze and tv's.

I don’t think anyone here is ok with riots and looting. But some of us have a better appreciation of the issues driving people into the streets. This exploded in the first place because people do not feel like their police are respecting their rights and treating them fairly.

And if you’ve been following along the last few days more than a few police departments have been doing their best to prove that feeling was based on a truth.

If the police are lawless how do you expect the citizens to respond?

I'm not actually surprised that you are ok with police departments abusing their power. As long as it's happening to other people, it's no big deal. I'd be willing to bet you'd have a whole new outlook if the police targeted you with police abuse.

This isn't about police self defense, it's about fascist displays of power.

No one here is ok with the riots and looting. Their problem is that you're ok with police attacking journalists and peaceful protesters.

Work with me here: Police officers are basically the front line service staff of the law, no different than the front line staff we all interact with everywhere we go. What do all people that work service jobs fear the most? Karens. The relentless, entitled, clueless middle aged woman who has nagged many a man to death, who rules through emotional abuse.

We need to demand to speak with the cop's manager, and if we don't get what we want, talk to his manager, then the district manager, then the regional manager... until you've got the direct line of the CEO. Pretty soon everyone is so tired of your shit, they just cave and give you what you want.

I think that's what America needs right now.
