Pandas Tru Prevent software?

I tried the Panda Tru Prevent trial offer at the beginning of April and read reviews and found that I liked what I saw and it was compatible with my computer and so I subscribed to it in mid april.

on april 28th the program had a problem with my user id and thus i sent an email to Panda as it is supported by email tech. they advised to reenter my id and i did and everthing was back to normal.

until May 4th and then the auto update would not work and so i tried the manual update and it kept giving an error message " could not replace the virus signature file".
so i rebooted several times and then the next day and then got the message "HTTP error 41".

The activity report says little, only that the auto update "incorrect" and manual update "incorrect. I have sent all of this off to Panda last Thurs May 5th and have heard nothing yet.

There has been no change to my security settings nor no new security programs added. The inhouse office techie checked the registry and scanned for viruses, trojans, adware, spyware and nothing.
I should say that I update and scan and defrag myself regularly and have had no problems in the 3 years that I have had the notebook.

Now I buy the program and get these problems. It worked fine when it was on trial.
So I wondered if any member uses this program or knows anything about it??

I did go into the "tools" of Internet Explorer and checked to see what the Custom Level had checked off regarding my auto updates to see if I did not have a proper box checked off and found everything ok there. The box for "automatic log on only Intranet zone or prompt for user was checked off."

I hope to hear from someone who may have some ideas while I sit here and wait for a reply from Panda as the popup from the Panda Bear in my task bar keeps advising that I should be updating as my last update was done on May 4th.

I look forward to comments.
Thankyou

Very interesteing. I was just about to post my own issue with panda that seems unrelated, but is just too coincidental.

On May 3rd my Panda Antivirus Platnum 7 failed to update and has not updated since. I'm suddenly getting "Incorrect username and/or password" errors. I checked and re-enterred several times no good.

I then noticed that my Permanent file protection was turned off and it would not let me turn it on giving me an error each time.

Permanent Firewall and email protection were still on.

After much troubleshooting I tried turning off and back on the Firewall and email. Once off they also would not turn on. Very fishy.

So I uninstall as best I can (Windows Security Center still reported Panda as reporting itself turned off even after unistall)

I reinstall Panda and the update seems to work.

But now the Windows Security Center reports that Panda is turned off for Firewall and Virus protection. When I launch Panda it says "enabled" and the firewall is clearly working as I'm getting network connection attempt prompts. Why is the security center suddenly not correctly communicating with Panda? It seems to me it is related to the previouse instillation, as I figure it wasn't all completely removed. But if I reinstalled and its working why would this be an issue?

Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated. Since this is also an "update" issue, and the dates are so close I wonder if something is going on.

I have two brothers who also use Panda Platnum 7 and are having update issues, though none have tried any troubleshooting yet, I'm guinipigging myself first...

Any other Panda peeps having issues?

Thanks!

oops not so fast.

It seems that after the virus def updates and the machine restarts it does a second update to update to version 7.07.01

Once this update is completed and loaded (after next restart) it runs the update again (even though its up to date) and the userID fails again and repeats the previous behavior.

It seems I'm stuck. My UserID is valid until september 05.

Oh, well I hope Panda's tech support comes up with something...

I hope to hear from other Panda users, I have posted in other forums and no responses. The other posters issue regarding proximity in time with my issue of updates and his with another Panda program could be a coincidence, however, I note that the member also had an issue with user id just like I did.

I am wondering if there is something going on with Panda. I read the CNet reviews, bad timing in discovering that site when I was surfing as it discussed the Tru Prevent reviews submitted by 5 individuals and no one had anything positive to say about the program or the support.

It was indicated that when you uninstall you can't totally rid the computer of the program and the issue of support is like mine, you wait and wait for an email response and the one review said that some of the response was in spanish??
This particular user was having problems with his internet after installing Tru Prevent and indicated that his intention was to do a total system restore as after the Panda install he lost all of his restore points. And then he is just going to dump the program.

I still hope to hear from others out there and indeed thank the member who posted as it gives me something to think about.
