Panda TruPrevent Technolgies

Here is a link to Panda TruPrevent.

I thought that what Heuristic technolgies did - looked for new unidentified programs and applications that had a "virus like nature".

They claim this will work with a different companies antivirus software as well, which is a first I think.

So, I have read what they claim it is supposed to do, however it seems like hype to me.

Anybody else have info or an opinion on it?

looks like a new name for an old technique, cant recall the name of it right now tho.

Sounds like a security-sandbox type technology, like PrevX, SSM, components of TPF, etc.

Interesting that a "big name" AntiVirus company is introducing this, and clearly stating that traditional signature-based and even heuristic AV technology isn't enough. You would think that they would try to be careful, not to paint a negative picture of their existing product line.
