I remember looking at them, but decided the regular panaflo were better. I don't remember exactly why, maybe it was because these were noisier.

I've used a couple of the 60 x 25mm 12-volt L1A's with the "ring-cage" design. Quite powerful (the motors are huge for a 60mm fan) but not astonishingly quiet. At 7 volts they were pretty darn quiet and still provided plenty of airflow for a P3 733 cooled by an Alpha PAL6035. I decided it was an expensive experiment and that the standard L1A would probably have done about the same.

If you do want some, search www.digikey.com for "FBL fan."

I wonder if you could get a similar quieting effect by drilling a series of small holes around the center of a std fan cage? Humm...worth a try.

I've got a couple of 80mms that I bought back when Silicon Acoustics still carried them. They cooled as well as regular L1As but there was more air turbulence noise than a standard L1A.
