I just don't see how 1" vs. 4" can make that big of a difference...unless you have to wall mount and have a WAF to meet 😛
The Z1 has a different screen filter than the other Panasonic lines and is pretty much considered the best Panasonic has to offer. However the extra little bells and whistles are what really drive the price up, 1" thick screen and wireless HD connectivity (you still have a power cord to plug in though). In the end, it's really overpriced. Right now you have the choice, you can get a 54" Panasonic Z1 for $5500, or a 60" Pioneer Elite 151 for $3999 at BestBuy (On sale now). At my BB, they still have a few 151s so I'd say it is a no brainer to go with the Pioneer. However, if you can't get a Pioneer Elite, this is the next best thing (PQ wise). But then you'll be faced with another dilemma, a 54" Panasonic Z1 for $5500 or a 65" Panasonic V10 for $3999. I don't know about you, but that is an easy choice for me, it's the 65" V10.
Although this is a great set, I think it should be sitting at the $3000 mark. At $5500, I just don't know how it makes sense.
