I have one of these (got it from ebay though) and this is pretty cheap for it (about the same as the cheapest on ebay now with shipping). buy a usb pata laptop case, and hook it up to an ion netbook...or a subnote.

From the picture you can see its HP branded (mine is as well). The picture on geeks is similar to the one I have in that the bezel (plastic front piece) doesn't have a blu-ray logo. (the bezels cost like $7 shipped on ebay with the blu-ray logo if you want it)

Since geeks combines shipping something warm to buy would be.

I got a 690g am2 itx mb from someone on these forums. Will it be strong enough to play blu-ray movies off this drive?

My friend bought a generic case (basically the same as the medion one on ebay) to go with the blu-ray drive.

it just comes with a USB cable and it powers off the usb. they usually have 2 usb plugs, to get 2 usb ports worth of power , but usually it works ok with just the one that is for the data part (though blu-ray drives might actaully need more power). he hasnt tried a blu-ray on his yet, but he said it can burn dvds with 1 usb port worth of power (usb 2.0 is 1amp at 5v, so 2 ports is 2 amps at 5v and should be plenty for any optical drive)

you could also just have a 5v adapter sitting around and plug it in if it fits.
