I have had a 27" Panasonic for the last 5 years or so... no problems whatsoever... also have a panasonic fax/answering machine, a boombox and a cordless, have had no problems with them so far have had all of them for over 4 years.

Nope I thought about that too. First of all, it does it even when using the power button on the unit. Also, I tried 3 different remotes and it did it with all of them (and one of them did not repeat the signal like most remotes do). I also tried holding the button for different lengths of time and that too made no difference. I guess it may be a design flaw (something that seems to be quite common in Panasonic's current products). :|

I bought a Panasonic 27" TV just over a year ago......I have no complaints so far....
