Hello, i have a CF-29 MK 4 which has an onbourd wireless adapter, it tells me that wireless conections are available, when i try to connect to my home network it tells me that 'this wireless network is out of range and i should refresh the list. the signal is at full strength though, when i attempt to connect to some of the different networks it throws up the pass key window, why does it not do that for my network, it can't connect. Is the built in wireless card too old? any help would be greatly appreciated, i have also tryed a pcmcia network card and i get the same issue. Thanks Joe.

Can anybody help me with this please? 6 hours later and all these people online, guess everyone that's online is a newbie? I asked a straight -forward question.

"Full bar reading" is just the rssi your wireless adapter is seeing from the radio. It doesn't mean you will have a successful association.

When your client tries to associate with the ap, your client will send a probe request (if it is even doing that) in which your ap should return with a probe response. If the probe response is not heard, you might get out of range message. It does look like this is what is happening here if your client's rssi reading is accurate.

Will the laptop associate with the ap if it is right next to the ap? If not, see if you can associate through another device other than your laptop. If you cannot associate through another device, then something is wrong with your wireless device. Try power cycle and see if that helps.
