Fry's has this for $999 today only.

I'm going to try and have Sears, BB or CC PM against Fry's B&M (will bring a Fry's flier with me).

Also going to see if there's any no interest finance offers currently available and will definitely buy an extended warranty.

Is this HDTV any good?

We have DirecTV, DirecTIVO and a Panasonic DVD Player.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info, I actually already checked their but the damn HT lingo is like jibberish to me.

The CC customer reviews seem to be positive.

I wonder how much a 3 or 5 year extended warranty is.

Yeah, they do like the jargon there - if they can't think of anything to say, they just blurt out an acronym or two ;)

This could be bad:
One warning about this set is that it does not take any 720p inputs.
from here.

Does this mean I can hookup my computer to the HDTV monitor (assuming I have a video card with DVI)?

HDCP Interface DVI-HDCP
DVI-HDCP Interface Yes
HDMI-HDCP Interface No

Rossman doesn't have a video card with DVI? Have you moved into the year 2000 yet?

Nope can't really justify the cost.

If I were to go dual I'd use the 2000FP.

Argh... why do they have to have this deal again? I was sooooo tempted the last time they had it (couple of months ago) and now they have to tempt me again.
<tries to talk self out of deal>Damnit, my old 36" TV is good enough! I don't need a 47" widescreen HDTV with a DVI interface for my HTPC system!</fails>

talk me out of this ATOT....

I'm hoping (for my sake) that Sears, BB and CC shoot me down otherwise I just may get it.

Total should be around $999 + $299 (3 year warranty) - 10% discount = $1168.20

Not sure if I am going to purchase it using my CitiBank VISA or get 12 months financing.

10% off is from either:
  • Pricematching
  • BB 10% off coupon
  • Sears 10% off financing (would have wife apply for a Sears card since I already have one)

No thanks, I'm sticking to iPods and digicams. Easy profit and they're small.

My house looked like a freakin' Dell warehouse.

Because I have 700+ PM's.

Bad news, I checked today's The Oregonian back the Sports section has a Fry's ad but this TV is not listed.

I called Fry's and they show the TV as $1499 here locally.

Oh well I just saved you $1000, you owe me!!!
