If that's in-home, that's not bad.

Then it is best to go with OneCall on the 50". And I can definitely vouch for OneCall. They are AWESOME. I was extremely impressed with their customer service and their delivery method the last time I ordered through them. OneCall takes pretty damn good steps to make sure your HDTV doesn't get smashed around in shipping and like I said, their customer service is top notch. Definitely something I'd even pay a little extra for when dealing with high end components.

Updated the main post to reflect a ~$50 price drop on the TH-42PX60U.

There are those who don't feel comfortable making a big purchase online for whatever reason. The 42" TVs are a great price, and even the 50" is competitive. Maybe we'll see a price drop on the 50" when the 42PXU's price drops... who knows.

The TH-42PX6U now shows the $1294 price. Hmmm... wonder if I can get CC, BB, Sears or CompUSA to price match? They all carry the 60U.

aside: thank goodness JackBurton and skywhr went to bed.

That's why it's the 6U and not the 60U. I'm betting that Panasonic wanted them to discount it instead of the 60U so the other retailers wouldn't get pissed about having to PM. Same reason why Sam's and Costco sell different model numbers than the others.

Yes, they'll 110% price match the TH-42PX60U at $1348 vs. $1800 at Sears you'll save $45 more. Updated main post.

i'm a true cheapskate, gonna wait for online prices to match these prices (tax is a bitch).. it seems like panasonic has cut prices across the board, if other manufacturers don't follow suit I think panasonic is going to steal all the big sales this season...
