Panasonic or Sony ?

tube tvs for the most part are solid rocks, a warranty is not even needed in most cases.

edit: at least when you're talking about Wegas and Taus

It's likely this:

Sony -- Best picture quality, moderate reliability
Panasonic -- Cheaper, very reliable

If it's a standard TV, I suggest fvck both and get a Samsung or something cheap.

Both the Sony and Panasonic same price @ CC this week.

I say go with the Sony then 🙂

I liked mine quite a bit while I had it (36fs100)

Make sure you have a big friend to help you move it.

I prefer Panasonic, just because I've always had excellent experiences with their electronics. For a regular TV, though, you may be able to find something cheaper and just as good in a Zenith or Samsung or something. I don't know.

But Panasonic++

Sony.No one have betetr warranty. But you should purchase an extended warranty from the store you will buy it.

An extended warranty for a tube TV?

Well, its soo damn cheap, why not?

You never know when a product can break in your hand.I was thinking like you, but when i bought my tube tv today, guy said ($129 CND currency for 5 years, do you want it )...So for like $30 buck per year, my tv is protected.

Chance that a tube might break up....are slimm, but hey, i was having like a 1% chance of experiencing burning on my 46" hitachi very early, and guess what, it happen.

No more taking chance with my tv

Well, its covered for a year already. You should have a credit card that gives you an additional year worth of coverage. You're up to 2 years already. Besides all of that, its a tube TV. There are bad apples, but the majority are solid as rocks.

Just make sure you read what is actually covered. Sales person telling you it covers "x" means jack sh!t.

CheapArse knows what he's talking about. My Toshiba Cinema Series 27" CRT just turned 5 years old and works just fine.
