Yes, I know Costco requires membership, but a few ppl asked me about them so I thought I'd post it here in case anyone is interested. :)

I had to check 3 different stores to find my kit, apparently they sell out quickly because of a digital camera promo Costco is currently running.

Edit: I'm really happy with the charger, it's one of the "smart" kind that automatically shuts-off when the batteries are fully charged. Apparently even some of the newer chargers places sell today still don't do this... :)

Costco Part #690257

Good luck!

Confirmed here in Portland, Oregon.

Last week they had 20, a few days later they had 2 left.

Costco has sold this basic Panasonic combination for quite awhile (often with rebates)....

Everytime I turn around however, they seem to include rechargeable batteries with higher capacity...

AA => 1600 -> 1950 -> 2100 -> 2300 mAh

BTW, the unit is quite compact and works well (at least the version I last bought with 2100 mAh AA batteries).

Like alot of Costco items, it is only available at the store, not online.

For those who might be interested, the following is the Panasonic QUICK CHARGER model that has been included in the rechargeable units that I have purchased from Costco (several times now :))

BQ-390

When travelling, I simply put 4 extra AA batteries in it an wrap it with a rubber band and I am ready to go. The AC prongs simply fold into the unit making it flat and easy to pack.

The following is a picture of the unit (without the extra batteries that Costco provides):

Good price. I'd be interested if I had not bought an Everready charger 6? years ago that can recharge NiMH, NiCD and Renewal and is also a smart charger.

You really don't need to 'sneak' in do you? I walked right in with a friend who has a membership, thinking they can bring guests.

Nah. I don't know what their policy is, to be honest. I've brought friends in before, but you either have to pay for them at the register, or ask the cashier nicely to run your member card twice. ;)

You can buy liquor there without a membership.

Ah, good to know when I go out of town. Here in TN you can only buy liquor at liquor stores.
